At the April 9 Royal Book Launch event at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum (in collaboration with Ohioana Library) I will be remembering where I came from and how those roots are deeply embedded in me.

Vets Memorial and Museum is located in Franklinton on the West Side of Columbus. I grew up in an area called THE HILLTOP not far from the event site.  Much of my talk that night deals with that working class neighborhood, with a working class PTSD Vet Dad who did not work, and how I learned to navigate my days and nights to achieve my goals.

Imagination and humor take center stage in the geography of my growing up.
